Nice captures Ed, I always like a good fish-in-the-claws picture! Might want to back off on the sharpening though!!

I knew I was pushing it. Trying to make up for my shortcomings, lol! Cant really blame the Tamron, for the most part its a nice lens.

Thanks bunches :)

edit - just dawned on me. The first picture got the heaviest sharpening, the others just an itsy bitsy bit. Hit the first one hard because I liked the birds position/my view, and it also needed it the most.

Thanks guys, I'll try cleaning the contacts and terminals. I use a battery grip on my 5D with both of my batteries in it, but having spares never hurts so I'll pick up another one or two. I'm not too worried about it but it is nice to have a reliable battery indicator :P

A few from a local Cars and Coffee on Sunday. All taken with the 5Dc and 24-105 f4L. This was my first time really putting the camera to work, pretty impressed so far!

Couple of pics I snapped walking around the other day. Unfortunately it was on and off raining and I was too nervous to get my gear wet  Tried to emulate a film type of look on lightroom with these. Feedback much appreciated.

Got a newb question for you guys what is the difference between "line" and regular "on" mode. Seems to operate the same but easier to adjust exposure compensation. Thanks!

Assuming you are referring to the Off/On switch with the little "squiggly" as the third setting, "On" allows you to operate the camera, but the back dial/wheel won't work. The "squiggly" enables the back dial. In the manual, Canon explains this but with a bit of a silly "justification", indicating (or at least implying) that the back dial may not be particularly useful during "normal" shooting (referring, presumably to either the green box mode or to a semi-Auto mode but where you don't want to mess with Exposure Compensation). For me, the only time I've said "dang" about the back dial being functional is when I've accidentally brushed it and changed my settings, otherwise I never just switch it to the "On"(to me, "half-On) position, at least not purposefully:)!

Thanks for the response Tony, looks like I will be shooting in "line"/"squiggly" mode from now on :D. When I first got the camera a week ago, the exposure comp was stuck at +2 stops, so it took me a little while reading thru a flickr thread to find out how to change it. The way this thing operates is so different to me than my 7D. Similar layout, but different way to do things.

Ah, good to know that you're getting things sorted out!

I admit, I stopped getting new gear several years ago, and in fact the newest most up-to-date acquisition, the 1DMk3, was definitely for it's time ('07) "top of the line", but when financial needs pressed, I had to make a choice, and the 1D3 had to go...

Fortunately, I was able to keep the good ol' 5DC, and, hey, that means I can still help out!

All shot at Twycross Zoo, Warwickshire. Lens without teleconverters except the Elephant, shot with a 1.4x.

Privileged to get this thread back up the list if only for a short while!

C&C welcome.
