It is funny to play with some of the serious fanboys. Nikons and Canons are both good and capable cameras. It's more a preference in interface. I do prefer Canon's system of having the index finger's dial up from the shutter, and the thumb dial being towards the bottom of the body. Seems to let me have a steadier grip vs Nikon's dials both being on the top.

Agree,both system is just awesome!
For example,D800 grip is to small for my palm,but 5D Mark III is just perfect!
Plus,a main controls on the right/top side of the body on Canon 5D Mark III/5D is a big advantage for me,I hate to push/hold buttons with left hand and rotate dials with right hand on Nikon camera body.Just my preference.
And I like how picture looks from Canon more,than from Nikon,again just personal preference.
BTW I still have a Nikon D70 + 35mm 1/8

Well, hey, I got my first DSLR, the 30D, back in '06. At the time, Canons were "leading the way" in the digital imaging "revolution".

Nikon has made some real leaps forward, and I applaud that, but I'm pretty happy with my Canon gear, and since I can't afford to switch (or even "double-up"), I can enjoy my gear, and then I can sit back and enjoy the "show"!

And the 5DC still remains a "Classic", older technology, sure, but great for that "hands-on" experience, and still, after all these years, great in the Image Quality department!!

Ah, well, this thread started, I believe, in '08, and was dedicate to the 5D "Classic", and since, well there is only one "5D1"/Classic, it keeps going!!

Rolfe, you are really putting your new camera through the paces! The shots look great, and the scenes cover a wide range......I think you have a "keeper"...Joe
