Beautiful photos. Love the colors.

Thanks! I really love how much post isn't needed with the 5dc, simple white balance and a little contrast and that's about it.

One of my first pics of my "new" 5Dc. Received it yesterday and even tried it with my Sigma 150-500 knowing I'd lose reach which explains why I have a 100% crop on this guy.

Well I just got the camera back from canon for the mirror fix. And it still didn't solve the mirror getting stuck up after a shot. I'm sad. :( I'm hoping that maybe its just my lens? using a 50 1.8. It's the only ef lens i've got. the other is an ef-s.

Heres a thought (if somebody already suggested this forgive me,I dont remember).
Since you only have one ef lens, obviously you NEED another ef lens to determine if its a camera issue or lens issue.

First thing to do is remove the lens, turn the camera on and hit the shutter button and see what happens. You may or may not know this but the camera will function with or without a lens mounted. If you still have the mirror issue without a lens mounted then you found your problem - something is jamming with the mirror mechanism. I have opened and studied our 5D's,and I can tell you they are very complex little gems (as is any camera). Thats to say the problem (if its the camera) could be deeper inside the camera, deeper inside than just the mirror mechanism you see when you look into the lens mount hole. If you want to go further you need to find another ef mount lens - almost ANY camera shop will have some ef mount lenses. ANY ef mount lens will work for a test (shop owner doesnt know your testing your camera and it wont hurt the lens to do this test). Im sure there are some pawn shops in your area - take your camera and find an ef lens, try it out and see what happens.

Im interested in knowing what you find - seems very odd that Canon would replace the mirror and send it back "broke" - if in fact it is a camera issue.

Keep us informed.

I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not too sure.

With the lens off of the camera, the mirror operates just fine. But with the lens mounted, it gets caught up. Now, when I press the lens release button and twist the lens like i'm getting ready to pull it off, at the end of the lens turn before it comes completely off the body, is when the mirror falls back into place. It's really weird. I am going to go to a local camera shop and test out a different lens, see if that cures the problem. I will keep you guys informed. I was surprised as well that Canon sent the body back with the same problem I sent it in with.
