I went for a walk with the 50mm 1.8 STM. So far the only full frame lens I've had access to is the 85mm 1.8. The 50mm 1.8 STM is good at some things and pretty bad at others, but it was super cheap. The foreground bokeh (focal plane pushed away a bit) on highlights is really glowy and muddy. Tons of fringing too. A lot depends on the lighting though. These have all had the fringing removed.

These are some pretty awesome shots. The ones with the 135L too. Well done.

Nice shots here! I personally never got along with the 50 on full frame. If you are looking for something a little wider, you should look into getting a 35 prime. Either the 35 f2 IS or the older 35 f2 model. Either would compliment your 85 well. I may be selling my older 35 f2 soon if you are interested.

Some Practice with my new Samyang 35mm 1.4 (Great lens). Installed a Focus screen so reasonably easy to focus in good light. Both at f1.4

I have no camera now & thinking buy 5d classic (again). I have budget which can buy 6d but not sure to buy it.
I use ff dlsr for taking portrait, for another purpose like street, landscape, etc except long telephoto i have decided to using mirrorless (samsung nx500, waiting pricedrop) so i think 6d is too expensive just for taking portrait and honestly i prefer 5d result than 6d except in hi iso :D
I've been using 5d classic before and i really love the result.
Are 5d classic still worthed in 2016 ?
Sorry my bad english

Since you can get a 5Dc for $400 and less, I'd get one. Especially for portrait use. If my 5Dc died today, I'd buy another. The only other full frame 35mm I'd buy at this time, is either a Sony A7S or A7S II, or if it had to be Canon, probably a 1Ds Mark II since I have a 1D2 and 1Dc and the batteries and charger, adding a 1Ds II would give me another full frame sensor, with good resolution (16mp), and very similar color and "look" from that era, I like the way the 5Dc, 1Dc~1DsII files look, very similar. They can be had pretty inexpensively too if you shop. I'd get another 5Dc in a heart beat though, they're inexpensive and have excellent output and are still totally relevant today.

Very best,

Last year i use sony a7
Last week i recently sold my fuji sistem (using it just for 3 mounth). They are great camera but i prefer canon output, specially from 5d classic.
In my country 5d classic with 90% condition is about 300-450 usd.
Now i have budget to go for 6d but if i buy 5d classic i can buy better glass. Sometimes i want technolgy on 6d but sometimes i think they are not neccesery
Hahaha cant decided from 2 weeks ago

I would second MalVeaux's opinion. I rented two 6D's for a wedding last month where the bride didn't want flash during the ceremony and the venue was super dark. Even tho the 6D has the high ISO range, the files still need quite a bit of noise reduction to make them presentable. I will say being able to set a minimum shutter speed for Auto ISO was a nice feature, but then again, it's quite a bit of money to upgrade. I was dead set on upgrading to 6D's before renting, but now I am holding off again. The colors out of the 6D look slightly more artificial to me. The 5D just seems to put out the most natural but vibrant looking colors.

I recently shot a whole event with one of my 5D's, 24-105L and an on camera flash. The event went from afternoon to late night and part of the event was outside where the only light was a small fire. The 5D finally struggled when there was no light to find focus (still got some shots while the fire was larger, but it finally died down and so did the light), but I think even the 6D would have been out of it's element there.

If I were you, I would get the 5D and get some good glass. I use mine the most with the 24-105L and the 135L, both lenses compliment each other well and are reasonably priced.
