MF, but zone focused, really. I just had it stopped down to f/8 or so and had it set by the focus scale, aiming for reasonable sharpness between about 2 feet and 10 feet. More info | Man, that 16-35 f/4L IS is a heck of a lot sharper and more contrasty than my old 17-40 f/4L.
