I got hired to do some dog portraits of Jager, an older Border Collie. The weather was pretty gloomy, but I did my best to make the colors pop without going overboard.

This is random, but I have been using two rented 6D's for some event work lately and much prefer the colors that come out of these old magic boxes. Even if I end up getting the 6D's for low light work in the future, I will still keep a 5D or two around.

I may (or may not) have posted this shot here, but if so, it was in an early "iteration" of this thread, so...

Back in '07, I had my 5DC together with my 30D, and would try to tackle, well, all sorts of stuff! This was before I got the 1D Mk III to use for wildlife and such.

Well, one day I was out cruising a nearby wildlife refuge. I had my 5DC with the 300mm f/2.8 L lens mounted, and I had my 2x TC mounted, so 600mm of reach, which I figured would help me get some critters!

I was driving along, when I spotted a Great Blue Heron out my driver's window. I stopped the car, and with the window rolled down I stuck my lens out and grabbed a shot:

It then began to move along, and I tried to track the bird as it took off and was flying by!

And then I got a "keeper"!

Anyway, I thought this would be a cool example both of the fact that the 5DC can get critter shots, birds in flight, and can even handle shooting with a TC -- the f/2.8 of the 300mm lens allowed me to get the AF at f/5.6!
