Soooo, my camera took a tumble last week, and I think something went wonky with the AF. It went down on a wood floor from probably 5-6', lens first (35mm). Some plastic cracked on the lens, and I assumed that was my issue. I'm finding that on all of my lenses, however, the focus has shifted. I use the center AF point, shoot something wide open, and the wrong part of the photo is in focus. I've tried all of my lenses, and it appears to be the same across the board. I'm trying to figure out what to do. Try to get it repaired, buy another 5d, or try something else (6d?).

I feel like I should be able to just have it 'tuned up' and calibrated, but it is only a $400 camera at this point (less now, lol).

But I already have one that just needs a little help! :D Not sure though, because I'm supposed to do a little traveling in 2018. AZ, SC, NYC and Brussels/Antwerp. I better get my crap together and figure this out, whatever I do..
The trouble is that I've become really, really attached to my camera. To the point where I appreciate that it only has 12.8mp, there's no live view, no video (you all know), etc.. It's just a camera.

Maybe I'll bite the bullet and send it to Canon. If I come out ≤ $200 to fix it, I can live with that.

Do it!
I have an e-m1 mark ii too...
Sell all the oly stuff now to get some lenses...
12.8mp is enough... and yeah the 5d is just a simple camera... a very good one :)!

I've seen them for the $250-300 range! But it is the 'best' camera I've used, and maybe a 6D or something would make you go 'wow, the image quality/focusing/etc. is so much better'?

Back from North Carolina. We tried to find wild alligators but were told to come back in the summer. First time seeing the Atlantic! Beaches here are super sandy, and do not seem get deep very quickly.

^^ Looking good. I have to visit a friend in S Carolina this year. I can't wait.

I haven't done anything yet, but the wheels really are turning. I would probably only buy another used body from KEH (where I seem to buy all my crap), and $400 is the going rate for a 5d. But I'll be in Europe for 10 days, and I don't really want to lug a tripod around....and Ghent Belgium looks stunning in the dark (per my google searches). That 6d does everything better than the 5d, except have a fast shutter speed. I have until April to figure out what to do. In the interim, I don't have a digital camera. :D

After a few years away I decided this summer to pick up another DSLR and of course it had to be another 5DC, my third I believe. People don't seem to understand how amazing the camera is still, I'm still stunned by the images it produces and until I feel I can't get the shot I want due to the camera I'm sticking with it. These were all shot with a 5DC and nifty fifty or 24-85, neither of which cost me over $100........paid $250 for 5DC.

It's been awhile since I've played with my 5d classic. I moved to a Sony a6000 awhile ago. Damn I missed this camera. Shot with the 50mm 1.8 mk1.
