These really are some beauties and considering some of the iso levels they are even more impressive. Excellent set.

Love the sharpness and background. Great shots.

Those are all quite amazing Pete; of course I've been privy to a couple before but they still display wonderfully here too.
I have to look really hard and critically to define in my own mind enough difference to call any of them better than the others! Having said that, #s 3, 4 & 6 grab my attention the most. Not exactly sure if its the pose or the background or the attitude of the bird, but those 3 really work for me.
Now, you're going to hate me for saying this, but my absolute favorite is the 3rd image of the male using the 3 flashes. He's just so delicately lit and it highlights all his colors so nicely and gives him a very nice catch light. Now I'm not suggesting going back to all flashes.....jez sayin' bros! Excellent, excellent work!

No way Steve I cant hate you for saying that buddy.I like the males better too.
I really need two more flashes to do this correctly but Im trying to put the brakes on the smaller gear and save for the big prime. Thanks for your endorsement I appreciate that!

You can cheat a little and use the sun on the background instead of buying flashes if anyone wants to experiment.
