Hoping for a 45MP DSLR.

I'm really hoping it's not another video camera...

Me too, but I doubt it.

And if it really is a high MP camera, I'm thinking that it will probably have the same lackluster DR that the 5D2 / 5D3 has.

Unless Canon got a brand new sensor for it, but that feels a little bit too far fetched.

A 45MP FF DSLR would be seriously sexy, but didn't I read somewhere it's not going a multi-MP beast? I'm also a bit lost as to why it would be a dedicated video camera with a 1D body; you shoot video on tripods, so why release something built like a tank?

Genuinely very curious about this.

That's what I thought. Have there been any shots of the back of this camera?

If it's a dedicated video camera with all the space on the back of a 1D body, wouldn't it be helpful to use most of it with the LCD screen? Video makers would love that.

Well, I hope they release a video and audio introduction to a new, high-resolution still camera! :p

Given that NAB is the big broadcasting clam bake, the 4K body that was rumored at the time the C300 was announced makes pretty good sense.

4K video would require 12k pixels in the horizontal dimension, if they want to use the 3x3 photosite arrays per video pixel of the 5D3. Hopefully that's a good sign...

It's also heavily throughput dependent...

I mean, imagine 20-30MP frames at 30+ frames per second. That's a LOT of data to move and store without dropping frames or otherwise corrupting data.

In the still world, a bad frame here or there isn't anywhere near the concern that it is in video/cinema production where it could render an entire take NFG.

Seriously doubt it will be with Canon saying over & over that the 1DX is their "NEW FLAGSHIP".

The D4 is Nikon's flagship, yet the D800 has more than twice the megapixels...

If it were 45MP, I'd expect 3fps or something like that.

A high MP camera is only interesting if it has impressive DR, similar to the D800 or better.
