We shot our first save the date video on Sunday.. It was probably a little ambitious for a first..considering we had a 7 and 5 year old doing dialog!

I think you're right!! We received two emails from agencies that we passed on to her mom.

Thanks.. We used a sennheiser wireless mic attached to his pant cuff. It was an omni directional. Kinda wished we had a cardiod or shotgun.

I think it's great but if you want some constructive criticism editing-wise, I'd say the part near the beginning with the kids sitting by the water, the cutting is too fast. It looks like you felt that whatever kid was speaking had to be the one on the screen, which results in some cuts that are 1-2 seconds and there are too many of them, too quickly.

That's a minor thing. Otherwise, great idea.

Yea.. I totally agree. It was my fault when we shot it, so I had to edit it that way. I had them say each line then cut. Their position changed a little bit with each take.. So it looked awkward if I showed the 'listener' as opposed to the 'talker'.

Excellent job! I use to shoot wedding video's many years ago (before the technology was what it is today) so I can appreciate the work that goes into something like this. I stopped doing wedding videos because of the time it took to edit everything (especially in those days). I've been thinking about getting back into it and your video makes me want to even more!

What camera did you use to shoot this if you don't mind me asking? Also, what application did you use for post production?

Thanks Marx! Yea, it's funny you said about the editing time. We just figured out we do 3 hrs of editing for every hour of shooting.

We shot it with a coupe 5d2's and a 60d. Edited with Sony Vegas.

That sounds about right.

Cool!

Two more question... were these all handheld shots? Was the shot with the couple running in the field shot with a steady cam rig? Sure looks like it.
