All I'm saying is, when it comes to the overall tax structure of a country and the benefits you get from your taxes etc etc, just your sales tax rate isn't comparable. Even with the 8% tax here in NY when my friend from England came over here he literally had bags on bags of stuff with him cause it's so cheap here. He told me it's close to 40% cheaper to buy stuff over here in the US vs. over in England. He did tell me he had to pay VAT so when he goes back he's probably going to have to pay some tax when he goes back over.

Well the Canadian dollar is a bit over par, so conversion rates don't count right now. I just simply look at how much it costs me to buy something. Melody

Jill-of-all-Trades wrote in post #14158976 Well the Canadian dollar is a bit over par, so conversion rates don't count right now. I just simply look at how much it costs me to buy something. That's fine, just saying it's hard to compare say a VAT tax to a US sales tax. laxlife1234 wrote in post #14158968 Even with the 8% tax here in NY when my friend from England came over here he literally had bags on bags of stuff with him cause it's so cheap here. Yeah, that's what I'm saying, sales tax really doesn't matter for prices, there are other things at play as well.

Nothing to say about it, really, cuz it's the best mid-range you can put on a DX format. I had it back in 2010, so it's been a while. But I admit, it was one of my favorite lenses. If I was you, get a FF and 24-70G instead. Far far better choice ! I agree... But Nikon doesn't have a practical FF body that I would like to use every day on a non professional and professional basis..... The D800 is amazing camera but not practical for me.... Im not going to want 36mp on a every day bases for pictures of my kids (thats going to be alot of import time wasted and storage space) and not going to run a DX format and loose sensor if I paid for a FF..... and Video is a must now after talking with my wife.... so D700 is out....and the Dx bodies are out of my price range
