It still makes a mighty fine 16mm 2.8 prime on FF... with no vignetting.

Who cares about vignetting? What really matters is the sharpness. It's worse than 17-40 when used on FF

the weirdest thing ever. http://www.petapixel.com …-hero-meets-pokemon-snap/ (external link) reminds me of that zombie video game in which you take pictures, "dead rising" as a part of the plot.

If the world was collapsing due to zombie apocalypse, taking pictures would be the last thing on my mind. My 300 2.8 IS becomes a blunt instrument.

the 17-40L starts at f/4. Last I checked, people paid handsomely to go from f/4-->f/2.8

If I could get away with just a bike I'd consider it... I could buy a new bike and a lot of camera gear for what my car is worth...

It's just not practical living in Phoenix with no car. :(

Arizona, huh? Not to delve too far into the perceived cultural failings of your region--but if you really needed a daily lift, just dress up like a minority--the cops there would be happy to give you a lift to the station. I'm sure that would cut miles off of your route :lol:
