Storm Chasing season is upon us! These are from this last Saturday here in North Texas. Saw some rotation, and some picturesque skies but no tornados. Anybody else going to be out chasing?

Danny, I'm not in Texas, But I would consider myself a chaser. So far, I've really only chased one storm (And It didn't pan out as I'd hoped). But I love storms, and I'd be in the Dominator if I could.
Reed and I met up in Elkins, WV, of all places, during Sandy's blizzard... He is my storm chasing hero, So I tracked him down using his live cameras.

That's the tree. I have one in my backyard with exactly the same damage. It too was hit though I have no picture.

There is one across the road that was hit, that I wish I had filmed. I may still try. Splinters are embedded in the surrounding trees, and a 4-5 foot spear of wood is embedded in the ground at a 45; 30 yards from the tree. Little pieces of tree everywhere.
When I found it, it was literally one of those moments where chills run down your spine. It seems to compete with an EF-5 for the name 'Finger of God'.

Our house was also hit in 2011.


I had to check to see if I posted those shots here; unless I missed it, I hadn't posted it here yet. It seems we can't keep a severe weather thread going for long. I know I'll do my best this year!

Had quite the show here last night in Fort Worth!

Amazing shot! Is that a single exposure? any filters involved?
I'm pretty sure that Timmer and a few others were chasing in the Texas area. I saw a tornado report on Facebook, but I don't know if it was true/confirmed.

Thank you! Yes all my shots are single exposures, I dont have photoshop. No filters. I use a CP during the day, at night its all glass. Yeah they chase down this way a lot. They are based out of Oklahoma so they arent to far. We see guys from his crew all the time. I dont think we had any today but beleive they did in eastern Oklahoma.

I am jealous! We have very few storms like that in my neck of the woods, plus I don't get the view of several miles like it looks like you have.

Cool! I'd love to hang out with him someday; chasing would be even better!
Just backed him on Kickstarter for Tornado Chasers 2013 not too long ago. He made it almost to $136,000, I believe!

Yeah I did too, it was a good deal.

I might be chasing if I wasn't 16, and not allowed to drive halfways across the country.
