I am on a limited budget and since I am having quite a difficult time finding anyone willing to ship to Canada my options are limited.

I own a 5dmk2 and so far my lenses are a Canon 50mm 1.8 and a Sigma DG 70-300mm 4-5.6.

I am wondering which lense would compliment what I currently have without much overlap.

1. Canon EF 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
2. Canon Compact Ef 28-105 4/5.6 USM
3. Canon Ef 28-135 3.5/5.6 Is USM

All are around the same price so it is more of what would be "better" for me to have. I don't have a particular style I shoot so it would nice if, within reason, it was a versatile lense.

Thanks in advance.

James

I got a 24-105 f4 IS L with my 5D2 and that is one terrific lens. It has great IQ, good AF speed and gives great photos. It gives me overlap in the range as I have a 70-200 f2.8 IS L to compliment it and if you could stretch your budget to get one you should.
However, out of the 3 options you listed I would suggest option 3 would be your best. It gives you a good range, good amount of overlap on your 70-300, and is a similar aperture range as your 70-300 so you'll be used to light and AV settings. 28mm isn't exactly wide with a 5D2 but as you say you don't have a particular type of shooting preference and TBH I hardly ever use the 24mm end of my 24-105 unless I'm inside.

If I was in your shoes, I would consider using the 50mm for a while longer, atleast till you can save enough money to get either a 24-70 or 24-105 depending what you like to shoot.

I think getting one of those 3 lenses, you'll most likely sell it off and get something else.

I'd love to save up with right now that just isn't in the cards both personally and financially. This is money I was not expecting so either I buy a "new" lens or I put it to bills.

Thanks. I'd love to get the 24-105 f4 IS L. I've read great things but unfortunately its beyond my budget. As much as I would like to add it to my collection, family comes first and I'd rather shoot with what I can afford than not at all.
