Help with 24-105 Canon lens

On this lens it has Macro and I was wondering how you set it to use this. I did not get a manual with the lens and I haven't had it very long. If someone has one, can you tell me how to use it.

there is no macro setting for the lens. just focus close.

Yeah, the "macro" on that lens is just that it has a really close minimum focus distance rather than a true macro function.

Printing the word macro on a lens doesn't necessarily make it a macro lens. Pretty much any lens longer than 50mm that can focus closely will be marketed at as a macro lens. To use it as "macro" lens just get as close as it will focus, and take photos.

Yep! ... marketing gimmick they all do to help sale a lens.
