That first shot is gorgeous.

Thanks for the nice comments and for looking. Vizsla's are certainly regal beings, with such humanlike characteristics. I could be blind and get a great shot of this guy, even when autofocus fails and ears are folded twice.

Colored ver. of first, uncropped and unedited:

He's from the Busch's in Winnebago, IL. http://www.buschvizslas.com/ (external link) The Busch's have been working with Vizsla's for over 40 years, and Jim is known simply as the "Vizsla Guru" because of his vast knowledge and experience with the breed. Their Pedigrees are second to none, and their dogs are said to have a darker coat than others.

If you are interested in getting a V, I couldn't recommend better people with more love for these animals.

thanks for the tip. i had a purebred vizsla before my current dog - he's a chocolate lab/vizsla mix, which has really turned out to be a fantastic combination. rusty is absolutely gorgeous (and i will say not all vizslas are - some of the breeding is certainly sketchy)!

i've got a few more years to go (hopefully) with my current dog but certainly will contact the busch family when i'm in the market for one!

i just looked at their photo page...they really do have amazing looking dogs, that's for sure!
