My son needed to shoot something with high contrast for his photography homework, so we set up a tabletop studio with some black mat board and a few daffodils. This is one of the test shots that we took with my digital camera to see what it would look like. If only those film cameras had an LCD on the back to preview.
He is shooting B&W film so we converted this to B&W to see what it looked like. On this image I lowered the opacity of the B&W layer slightly to let a little of the yellow come back on the flowers.
For lighting we had a 48" octobox on the left side with a flag to keep it off the background and a silver reflector on the right for fill.
