Some Killdeer with my new glass

Got my 400mm f5.6 today, this lens is ridiculous! I was out for 30min and found some Killdeer nesting in gravel.

These are pretty much 50% crops, this is why i bought this lens, crazy sharp wide open. Brilliant.

Beautiful and well focused images. I think you did hit a jackpot with your 400 F5.6
I had to send mine to Canon for calibration and it is still lacking a bit ;)

Handheld Rick, the ss was around 1/2000 ISO 200 i think so no problem there.

One more thing, I need to calibrate my monitors, do these look OKAY? (exposure etc?) I turned down the brightness on mine and upped contrast a bit... Not sure how they look.

Allan, first, congrats on the new glass. Now, it is results like that which make me wonder if I should sell the 100-400 and go for the 400. I look forward to seeing more!

Allan, this lens is so sharp it works very well with my 1.4x III TC too.

enjoy it, because the next level up is major $$$$, which i have not got to yet, lol!
