This is just an interesting tid-bit graph I found on Ebay. This graph shows what 5dmk2 bodies have been selling for, on Ebay, over the past few months. Notice the big drop in price after the Canon anouncement of the mk3? It's too be expected, but just think about it... just a while back you couldn't get one used for hardly less than 2300.00, and now it's common to get them for 1700.00 or even less.

I've seen them as low as $1,500.00 on craigslist for over a month now.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I didn't check on the 5dc's. I wonder if this price drop is having an effect on them as well?

Just checked ebay, and they seem to be going for around the 800 dollar mark?

Kinda glad, picked up a 2k clicks, gripped with overnight shipping.... Shipped and PP'd..1850. I couldn't have found that 2 weeks ago. Although I know it sucks for owners.

I think once all the early adopter " must have 5d3 " people get theirs and the 5d3 is in stock everywhere I think you will see the price level off. Right now people will dump their 5d2 like its infected just to get the new one.

Nikon D700, 28-70 f2.8 Nikkor, 17-35mm Nikkor, 50mm 1.8 Nikkor, 28mm f2.8 Nikkor, Panasonic G3, Panasonic 14-45mm Lumix, Panasonic LX3, Canonet, 4 speedlites, some remotes some umbrellas, some stands, some cables and a few bags.
My website with old terrible low res pictures that I'll update at some point. (external link)

I dont think so. I think they are going to continue to drop like a rock. I'll bet by end of summer your going to find low count ones for $1400.00

It will get even cheaper when the 5D3 is delivered... Many are waiting for it before selling the 5D2. It will be wild to see the FS forum next week! I have a feeling they may even hit $1500-1550, but after the big sell-off go back up to 1600-1650 as long as the 5D2 is still being made.

I unloaded mine for $1650 in my pocket after fee's and shipping... A pretty big hit from the purchase price of around $1900 or so (refurb), but it was expected to say the least. I am camera-less for now, but I was worried waiting another week or two I may even lose another $100-200...

Interesting trend though... If the 5D2 was what, $2699 at release in 2008... And at the end of it's life, if you owned it the entire time could sell today for $1700-1800...

If the 5D3 keeps the same trend, at the end of it's life we are going to look at selling for $2200-2500. It will probably hold most of its value until the 5D4 is about to come out, in which you will probably be able to sell it at $2800-3200.

Don't know the point of this post, but just thinking out loud :p

depends on the shutter count. In 3 years one of our 5ds would have over 100,000 clicks. Thats a 8-900.00 camera at best

Thats about $27.00 per month or $6.75 a week for the use of the camera for three years.
