depends on the shutter count. In 3 years one of our 5ds would have over 100,000 clicks. Thats a 8-900.00 camera at best

Not if you get the shutter replaced... Which is what, $300? Then it's new again :p Probably worth the investment to sell at a higher price at that point.

I dont think so. I think they are going to continue to drop like a rock. I'll bet by end of summer your going to find low count ones for $1400.00

Not if "new" price stays at $2199 and refurbished at $1930 (when shipping and tax factored in).

I'd actually say that all those deals for new 5D2 that are happening over last two months is what drives used prices down.

I'm finding it really hard to seel the 5D2 at these prices.. I don't need it with the 5D3 on preorder, but I don't want to give it away either... might end up keeping as second body.

True, but I have a feeling the 5D2 won't be made for much longer. Although they have said it is not being discontinued *yet*, that yet can be in a month or three months from now. I have a feeling they just have a ton of stock and once they unload it all it will become discontinued. I believe this has happened in the past with other bodies/lenses.

I sold mine after 2 yrs and 25k clicks. 1600. Kinda low but maybe that's the going price. Was afraid that everyone else unloading was going to bring mine down even more.

Meh. I wouldn't sell either one of my 5DII's. Some improvements are not worth the money Canon asks for a 5DIII.
A client, for example, would NEVER EVER telll the difference which picture was taken with either mark II or III. I know the 5DII had a HUGE improvement over 5Dc...

But..

...It's a different story with 5DIII.

Kinda glad, picked up a 2k clicks, gripped with overnight shipping.... Shipped and PP'd..1850. I couldn't have found that 2 weeks ago. Although I know it sucks for owners.

Why does it suck for owners? My 5DII still takes exceptional pictures and will for many years to come.

Canon will not maintain two product on the same production line, nor will they have two separate production lines. I bet the 1D4, 1Ds3 and 5D2 all stopped production some time ago while they were building inventory for the release of the 1Dx and 5D3. Now it's just a question of the new stock being depleted before they "officially" say they are discontinued. And that stock will go fast when you have eBay sellers selling new 5D2s for $1800 and selling 100s in minutes.

I think he was referring to owners who no longer want to owners.

Until I see some real world ISO6400 shots and can compare to my 5DII's.... the 5DIII is not very compelling to me, even with the better AF (the 5DII AF works well enough for me).

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

5d3 has marginal improvement over 5d2, I'd pick up another 5d if it drops more.

Well, the 5D3 is a VERY HUGE improvement over my current 5Dc body. But at the price of USD3500, I can still feel the pain.
