Until I see some real world ISO6400 shots and can compare to my 5DII's.... the 5DIII is not very compelling to me, even with the better AF (the 5DII AF works well enough for me).

FYI - just thought I'd throw this in...ISO 6400 shot from a pre-production 5DIII that I just saw posted in another thread

Not real world of course but still something worth reviewing IMO

Hard to believe that image was shot at 6400 ISO! Wow!

What? I don't care about money. I responded to the post above to what he meant by it hurting owners when they sell their 5DII. Read before you quote!!

The 5d2 is such an awesome camera if you shoot portraits or landscapes and even does ok with sports, wildlife, street etc. I wonder if those who use manual focus lenses would be jumping on one considering the prices.

The 5d3 looks great and all but if you can get a good 5d2 for 2k less I would be all over it. I would bet its more then enough camera for many. I am certain it's enough for me and it's very unlikely I will be selling mine.

Depreciation sucks for everyone. It's just a fact of life though.

Why does it suck for owners? My 5DII still takes exceptional pictures and will for many years to come.

Cameras retain more of their resale value than most consumer goods.

What I find amusing, is how many people are complaining how they have no camera so nothing to do with their time now that they are camera less. What that tells me is the majority of these 5D3 orders are not for professionals because I don't know any professionals that are waiting for a camera. Work doesn't stop.

if you got money to burn, burn it.

Regardless, I look at these price drops as an opportunity on pick up a 5dC on the cheap.

Exactly. They are waiting so they can take photos at 25,600 and then pixel peep. We don't have time for all that crap, it just needs to work. I'll leave the 100% cropping, pixel-peeping business to those who have the time for it.

My Brother in law is a full time pro and he was telling me the other day hes wont be buying it for a while. You have to believe in yourself before you believe in your camera.

I sold mine after 2 yrs and 25k clicks. 1600. Kinda low but maybe that's the going price. Was afraid that everyone else unloading was going to bring mine down even more.

You gave it away. It's called PANIC.
