I was impressed with it too...but there are some out there who aren't.

Not sure what they are looking for.

I was not impressed with that image.

What I was looking for was some large, dark, out of focus area in the image. If there was such an area, and no noise or grain evident when viewed at full size, then I would have been impressed.

What I need excellent high-ISO performance for is in the dark, OOF areas of an image, such as completely blurred out black backgrounds. Make a sensor that can produce such an image grain-free, right out of the camera, and you've really got something impressive.

The image shown was one in which almost everything in the frame was on, or close to, the plane of focus. Even cameras that are sub-par in high-ISO performance can do a decent job with that.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

You just are terrible as a tog if you cant adjust with a 400d fast enough lol and at weddings? Fair enough if your shooting sports on fast moving subjects but weddings? really? llol.

You obviously have never shot a wedding and have no idea what you're talking about.

Anyways my original reply was a sarcastic one aimed at you sarcastically saying the 5dmk3 is a dud and no need to upgrade as your camera still takes excellent pics and i replied saying so does my 400d.

I never said the 5DIII was a dud, nor that there was no need to upgrade. Just that the 5DII prices dropping doesn't mean much since I'll have mine for quite a while, even if I did get a Mk III.

You have listed things about teh 400d that doesnt STOP it from taking spectacular pics. You have listed personal preferences and features that make it "easier to take pics".

That is the underlining point. the 5dmk3 is not made to take spectacular pics just as much as your beloved 5dmk2 over MY 400d aint there to take spectacular pics, they are there to try and help take pics easier(better ISO performance, better AF, controls etc). All to do with making the tool easier to attain the given composition.

You should bloody know this. i am sick and tired of mk2 fanboys saying "5dmk3 is a waste, it wont suddenly stop my mk2 from taking spectacular pics" Leads me to believe that those lot are gear hogs and not true togs who appreciate COMPOSITION and the ART of photography.

I appreciate composition and Art and when i do get a 5dmk3, it wont be so i can take "spectacular pics" it will be so that it is easier to attain my composition because i can, like millions of rebel users can take spectacular pics on a rebel..

I never said the Rebel can't take spectacular pics. It just doesn't fit my shooting style. You keep putting an awful lot of words in my mouth about the 5DIII lol.

I think 5dm2 will she around 1700. However, I think when replacement to the 7d market will take bigger hit when it gets announced whenever it does. I think price hit on cropped sensor is greater (in percentage) that you might be able to pick up used or refurb of the 7d at much lower price than what you can get. This is if you can wait until that time.
I think you always have to consider the opportunity cost. Wait now and possibly loose all that photo moments to save couple hundred bucks. If you think you can afford to miss those photo ops, then wait. If you need to capture those moments, get it now and be snap happy.
