A pity about the blown whites though. But still, good shots. Wild Birds of Europe: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?p=19371752

Thanks Levina, I actually toot some time in pp and try to lower the exposure on the whites so its not washed out but was not able to do it. GaryFairhead Cream of the Crop More info | Mar 16, 2012 18:11 | #11 The 3rd image gets most of my attention...the whites will do it to you every time though...I find spot metering and manually exposing works well.especially in conjunction with the higlites alert on the lcd ..it forces you to constantly be thinking about the changing light and lets you compromise with the DOF, SS and ISO and after some practice you will have a pretty good idea from the meter how your image is going to expose...just a thought... Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....

It may just be me, but the first 2 captures look a little "hot" to my eyes and on my monitor. Especially noticeable in the 1st capture. Maybe you were compensating for lack of sun....I know I would - ![]() Thanks Steve, I may have went crazy with the pp Thanks Charles, when it comes to chickadees you are the benchmark.
