Mine is on order, I can live with screw in filters although I can see how it is somewhat of a bummer. Seems like all the nice UWA lenses require either expensive adapters (SW150 & Lucroit) or a homemade hack.

jd--when you get this, do a comparison at 15 2.8 between this and our Nikon zoom. Would love to see some comparison shots.

I will down the road. It's not a priority lens atm untill I get my D800 first. :)

Yes indeed! :D I think it's going to be a beautiful marriage! Getting this one along with 2/25mm. Those two will work in concert to be the newer/better 14-24mm. ;)

Sounds like my soon to be 2.8/15mm, 2.8/21mm and 2/35mm combo (the last 2 I already have), as a newer/better 16-35 II. I might have to fill the gap between 21 and 35 though.

The ZE 2/28 is an interesting lens to play with... I bought one for pure nostalgia' sake and it's a fine lens although the field curvature needs to be mastered.

You may have read that the 2/25 seems to be a little longer than 25mm so maybe it's fine to slot in that gap too.

Several cameras and more glass than I will admit to.

The Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens has a front diameter of 98mm. The filter size of this Zeiss 15mm f/2.8 is 95mm, but with the width of the built-in hood taken into consideration, it might possibly make the actual front diameter (including the hood) close to 98mm as well.

Therefore, could it be possible that the adapter ring/system made specifically for the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 by Lee for their filter holder system, would fit on the Zeiss 15mm f/2.8? It may not be a perfectly snug fit, but it could be close enough. Just thinking out loud.

I didn't now it was on the long side of 25mm, I did play with one at PhotoExpo last fall...really seems like a nice lens.

Looks like it will be a great lens especially for being this wide. I would pre-order one now if it weren't for the high price. I wish it were priced like the rest of the Zeiss lenses.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

It depends on the diameter of the Zeiss hood, not filter thread. If the diameter is less than the Nikon hood diameter, it should be eiter fit straight on or fit with a small modification. All depends if the Zeiss hood is smaller than Nikon.
