seeing these threads about broken USB connectors on cameras has me wanting to pick up a card reader. What's a decent one? USB connectivity would suffice. I don't need speed, I'm retired and have lots of time to download photos.

They are going the Thunderbolt route. Not sure what to tell you about a USB 2 reader though. I made the jump to a 3 a couple months ago and its been awesome. Ridiculously faster than my 2 was.
