Quick snap outside of a restaurant after dark. Lit by street lamp, ISO 6400. Looks good to me!

Anyone having any issues with LIveView zoomed, manual focusing? There's some threads popping up in various places, claiming issues with poor MF capabilities, when zoomed in, in LiveView on both the 5D3 and the D800.

LiveView focusing is a critical item for me, so I'm curious if this is truly a problem or not?

I used LIVE-view with manual focus (zoomed to 100% to get focus) a lot today with no problems.

Ah, well... good. Maybe it's just an issue with D800s then. (It's a pretty big issue, if you ask me).

I have not tried my Eye-Fi Pro card yet. Currently updating the firmware in the card.

A little off topic, but I was wondering if it is possible to send pictures to a eyefi card or only from them? I want to put one in a Picture Frame and send images to it, but didn't think it worked this way.

Just one more 'practical' question today :)

What is maximum capacity of CF & SD card 5D3 support so far? Is 128G ok or not?

Many thanks.

The manual says about formatting cards in camera. If capacity is 128 GB or lower the card will be formatted with FAT filesystem. Larger cards with exFAT and from that I would assume that yes you can use cards larger than 128 GB! But who can afford cards of that size ??

I don't think that is possible. I think the only way to add images to the card is through the actual sd interface not through the wifi interface.

Just got ours, barely had time to play a little over my lunch. First impressions.

Auto focus is WOW. Went in the bathroom with the 5d2, closed curtains (opaque) and all lights off, 5d2 HUNT HUNT HUNT....5d3 focuses and locks...even on a dark flat brown wall. Impressive. Also love the whole flash of light in the viewfinder when it locks focus.

Love the new shutter sounds, and the silent mode is even better. I have a feeling our 5dII will get the trade in soon, with 2 cameras running during a wedding, one silent (or very very soft), and one clunking away.....thats going to get annoying.

Auto focus modes galore.....really want to get this thing out and shoot some sports....seems way more up to the task than the 5dII was.

Really like the new live view/video switch.

I am with the others that say the upgrades are worth the money WITHOUT any improvement to the sensor. Any ISO boost, and I think there is some there, is welcome and gravy on top. Can't wait to get it out and run it through the ringer some more and put it up next to the 5dII stuff we have done. I don't think the photos will be a whole much better, it will just be a better tool to get them made.

since this has the same metering system as the 7D, has anyone tried doing high speed continuous bursts in low light/lens cap on to see if it slows down like the 7D does?

Not that it really matters in real life shooting, but I'm curious to see if they fixed that "issue".

It sounds like this is a really nice camera...maybe when I can afford to go full frame, I'll get this camera. Of course, probably by the time I can afford it, they'll have a new one out :p

I used the have the 5DM2 with the 24-70 2.8, which was a very heavy couple

i can notice from most of your signatures that you guys have the 24-105

would it be interesting and relevant to trade the 24-70 for a 24-105 when i'll get my 5DM3 or should i keep my 24-70 anyway ?
