Originally they said it was going to be $490 but B&H has it for $349 (had my pre-order in as soon as they announced it as well as my RRS L plate), I don't think you're going to see the price go down any more. I think they are justifying the price increase due to the AF pt joy stick and slightly improved weather sealing. If you want less expensive 3rd party grips will probably come out shortly but who knows if they will have the joy stick control.

Oh, I didn't notice that it was getting joystick control..... That would be fantastic since the focus points don't scroll around like i had expected. For understandable reasons though.

Yeah, I'm just basing my price on my local Henry's - which hasn't listed the price dropped at all. I'm hoping they will once its actually out and right now they are just trying to get what they can during pre-orders of the thing.

I promise i'll have something more interesting to shoot some day.

Funny, i've been shooting full-frame for about a year (5Dc, now 5D3) and I never really noticed the difference in framing until I went out to try to shoot some birds (which I haven't done in a few years). I certainly need to get closer, or get a bigger lens.

About a 50% crop...tweaked the raw in PS-CS5...oh yeah, really bright sunlight too.
I think the BG noise if from me tweaking it in PS. Can't imagine the ISO was very high, but I'll have to check when I get home.

woah...that is quite a shot. I've been trying to take a shot like that for a long time, without success... (and now I'm Boston where they don't even get lightning!)

A couple from today. I did a lot of low light and flare shooting. Worked great, but I hate that I can't see the focus box! I often had to guess if I was hitting my target, and was often wrong.

QUOTED IMAGE

Yes that is the result of sharpening. I suggest using masking and edge sharpening so noise and background isn't sharpened.

Yea! 5D3 Autofocus really works! Walking Person in the Dark. ISO6400 f/1.2 85mm 1.2.
I was shooting about 2 seconds (About 12 Images @ 6fps) and there was not a single unsharp Image.
