I bought a new birding lens, then realised that I would really like an AF system to match it. Not that I wasn't getting sharp pictures with the 5D2, but BIF?...that was rather hit and miss as it's very hard to keep that centre point on target all the time. Now I just need the time to go use them together! ![]() Which are you currently using?

I was using the Nikkor 70-200 with a 2x TC on my D800 but the TC isn't the greatest for birding. I have put it up for sale on FredMiranda.com and now want a dedicated birding lens for the 5D3. I bought an EF 600 f4 IS...it's a real beast of a thing to cart around, but it makes great pics. As I said...work has been full on lately and I haven't had much chance to use it.
