^^^ Yeah that's monstrous both in size and price. I haven't decided how much I want to spend on this purchase yet but it's slowly becoming one of my favorite genres.

I am using 4.1 RC1 and it is okay, but I think LR3.6 was faster. Last night it seemed to really bog down. Exporting 1000's of images makes me cringe. I really hope adobe can get the speed up on this program, at this point I think it is kind of a joke. BTW, with the reports that RC2 was even slower I have chosen to not push my luck and wait for the next update.

In LR4, RC2, I had about 900 images that I didn't convert to DNG, just kept as CR2 in Lightroom. To export those as jpgs for the web (800 px) took over 12 hours. I had another 900 that were converted to DNG and they took about 3 hours. When I tested exporting just one file, the CR2 took 46 seconds and the DNG took 30.

Man, this is a heavy crop of a similar shot posted the other day...I usually try not to crop too much but I think it really retains the detail! Again, flicrk seems to make it look a bit over sharpened. Any suggestions? It looks smoother on my monitor.

i didn't want to create a new thread to ask, and i figured this would be the place to ask:

what are you guys using for arca-swiss style plates? i'm using a RRS ballhead and i'm on order for their revA L-plate, but i'm also in the market for a smaller and lighter plate that i can leave on there when size and weight are more important than vertical panning.

my previous setup was to use a RRS L-plate and a markins plate to leave on there at all other times. since the RRS non-L plate is rather large and bulky itself, there's not reason for me to buy it since it doesn't melt into the bottom of the body like the markins did.

i guess my question is, is there a good alternative to the markins P53U, or should i just go ahead and work with what i'm used to? thanks in advance.

I've got a markins P7D on the bottom of mine (was used on the 7D) looking at the pics it looks like a smaller plate.

I'm waiting for the BG before buying plates

Thanks man! That 35L is uh-maze-ing... this was a tough one though.. her skin is so fare that it was reflecting the green of the grass a lot... worked a lot with curves and masking on her skin.. I think I had like 5 revisions before I was satisfied...

Off the Blue Ridge Parkway

taken with the 5D3 and 24-105L. I don't feel Ive been able to get the sharpness Im seeing on this thread from most of the postings. Not sure if Im doing something wrong. Many say their keeper rate shot up through the roof with this camera, but I have yet to see that big of a jump. When I zoom to 100% in aperture, Im not seeing the same kind of sharpness that many of you are posting with this camera. Is it me, am I being too picky or have the wrong settings?
