If you guys read the Dpreview review on the 5D3, they have mentioned highlight tone priority (HTP) works for RAW files as well. I thought this was JPEG only myself, but I just took identical shots, the only different being HTP enabled on one, off on the other. I was suprised to see how much difference there was with my RAW files in LR4. These files had -100 whites and -100 highlights applied to both to see how they recovered. See the results below for yourself...

Note, that is not camera shake. The actual focus point on both images is perfectly sharp. Looks like I may be using HTP from now on...

Not to sound like your Doc and I totally Understand the love for photography but its not bad to take a little break every now and then. :) remember, you dont want your injury to get much worse than it already is to the point that you can no longer move a muscle. Just a concerned fellow tog and an advice from somebody in the med field. :)

I appreciate it. And I'll try my best to take a break. Perhaps no more 70-200 for awhile, just the 100L. :-)

Thank you and thanks to WARAT as well.

True story.
My camera is with me 24/7. No joke. Rez, grocery stores, coffee shops, and everyday single day when I go to work. You will never see me with out it. Drives my GF crazy, but she is supportive. Heres the funny thing. I have severe tennis elbow in my right arm and believe it or not a torn muscle in my left for the past few months. I went to My orthopedic surgeon after my MRI (yes I actually had my camera with me along with the 70-200) and he asked me on a scale of 1-10, (10 being the worst) how much pain are you in? I said "honesty? A 50". I can barely pick up a glass of water. He lifted up my camera and said jokingly "Perhaps you should take a break carrying this around". I told him not a chance in hell. :-)

That's how much I love photography. So, when I get compliments from everyone in this thread and on the forum, it makes all the pain worth it. My psychical therapy hasnt gone well. In fact my right arm is much worse and my therapist thinks i have something severly torn which may require surgery. I have a follow up appointment with my ortho on Tuesday. If surgery is required, all of you can expect a bill from me. Lol and yes, the camera will be sterilized and right by my side. :)

Peace,

Christian

i'm just glad carrying my camera around has made my arms stronger. sorry to hear surgery might be in the future, you're putting out some very nice pictures im sure it can only go on the up and up with a healed arm or not.

^^Mondayshift...I love that little bird...took me a moment to decipher what he was doing. You seem to create such lovely colours...a pleasure to look at.

Like WARAT i'm just looking out for you, but I would be okay with keeping your 5D3 for a while just to remove temptation. This is only from the kindness of my heart of course;):lol:

kidding aside, great photos, but like WARAT said its best to take breaks than injure yourself further :)
