Sounds more like sour grapes than anything else. Why take the time to comment in a thread about a certain body, when all you're going to do is slag off the camera? Says way more about you than it does about the camera.

jwcdds wrote in post #14588584 (external link)
:lol: You're only now realizing that behind every good photo is a good photographer? Cameras/lenses are just tools to help make the job easier. Gear doesn't compose and take photos on its own. (Though some hidden department at Google campus is probably working on that as we speak.)

Give someone without skills, talent, training a $20,000 medium format camera and he/she is still capable of capturing/producing crap. Given someone who is skilled, talented, and well-trained/experienced a $100 camera, and he/she is liable to produce jaw-dropping photos.

But all in all, most people treat this as a hobby and all should be encouraged to shoot, share, and enjoy. That's how one gets better. This thread is about sharing photos taken by 5D3 owners with the camera. This thread never said anything about "only award-winning photos will be allowed."

Well said! The sheer ignorance in that poster's comments! It astounds me that anyone who has spent some time on POTN would slag off a camera just because some of the contributions on this thread aren't "up to scratch"!

Hell, a lot of my pics aren't that good, but the 5D3 is allowing me to make keepers in bird photography where before I was having less success.

Growing old disgracefully!

Looking at some of these pictures. are they really taken on the 5d3 because some dont look any better then a shot taken on a rebel with a decent lens attached to it. {...}

Well, my mom thinks my photos are awesome.

Just goes to show that IQ is 90% down to the lens and not the camera.

this makes it more of a piss take that the 5dmk3 is double the price of a 5dmk2 when all it offers is 1 stop better ISO and a revamped AF system.

Dont forget, you are looking at web-resized / downgraded resolution sample photos people post to these forums :P Really not the best to pixel peep on :lol:

Kind of bummed out actually, because I'm liking this lens and I didn't want to have to have it in the running with my other options. Damn.... :lol:
