The 5D2 had amazing IQ, as does the 5D3. It improves in many other area's though. ISO performance, lack of banding at high ISO (and I have seen none at low ISO yet... Just took an 8 second exposure and pushed fill to 100% and nothing). Going to test more of the ISO 100 though.. Not sure how to get all the banding so people can fight over it ![]() To me, that is IQ improvement. +1. Now i'm comfortable shooting concerts at 6 fps and over 6400 ISO and still have manageable images. That is another reason why i decided to bounce back to Canon instead of opting for the D800. Mamiya M645 1000S, Mamiya RZ67, Polaroid SX-70 Alpha, Polaroid 250 Auto Land Camera, Leica M3, Canon Elan II

Low or high ISo? Low probably not because the 5d2 already has great low iso performance. high iOS the 5d3 looks much better. And the other features make the camera complete. At least for THIS iteration. Body: Sony a7R IV

Nice detail to see in the tree and stuff. Mind you, wind would of softened the branches a bit.

Mar 22, 2012 21:07 | #788 well, I'm wishing for more megapixels and one or two stops more dynamic range at low iso. I think the 5D III are targeted at wedding/event photographers. As a landscape shooter I find the 5D3 features a real disappointment.

They can be not the nicest to deal with. I tried to call them on Tuesday and was told that they were not shipping until mid April, could not confirm the price, nor give me confirmation that my pre-order was even in the system. I said bugger the unknown and ordered from Crutchfield when they had them in stock on Tuesday. Mine is waiting for me in Lewiston and I'll venture down and pick it up on the weekend. Glad that you had better luck with Henry's than I did. Perhaps the Ottawa staff know what they are doing better than the TO idiots. Really though it depends who I deal with when I go to the store. If Im talking to the Canon rep at the store, he's great. The other day I went in to pick up a lavaliere mic and there was another sales associate there. Casually asked him if he knew when the Mk III's were coming in, and he brushed it off saying "a few weeks" without bothering to check. Then I get a call one day later from Henry's telling me my camera is in 5D3 | 7D | 85L II | 70-300L | 24-105L | Nifty Fifty | 600EX-RT_______________

HDR is a pretty nice feature for landscapes, and 22MP is still nothing to shake a fist at... though we're not talking gigapixel here. 5D III, 24-70L, 85L II, 100mm Macro, Apple gear... too much.

People really are demanding to consider an astounding camera as a disappointment. Do you currently shoot film or use that 60D? does the HDR feature offer any sort of advantage, or is it just a gimmicky in-camera AEB merge? I'm not saying 5D3 is a bad camera, but basically it has the same sensor as the 5D2 with just a few tweaks. now it would be much more exciting if Canon put the Sony EXMOR D800 sensor in a 5D3
