for example this shot below:

Nothing great about it in terms of composition. its just a pic of some old building that even a iphone can accomplish a pic.

There has been a couple of realy geat shots in the last page that pushes the boundaries of the 5dmk3 like the shots of the dog race. Things like that is why you need a god AF system and where the 5dmk3 shines above other dslr's

But a shot of a old building on not so special light and not so special composition doesnt show me what this camera can do.

i would like to see more demanding shots like HIGH and i mean HIGH 12800 ISO shots on poorly light area with the subject moving fast.

That is what THIS camera is made for! And those are the shots that will make most potential buys go "WOW!! THE AF and ISO performance is astounding! i must get a 5dmk3!!!!!"

each to their own though but if i had a 5d3 and my mates asked me to show them a shot that their rebels or 7d's or even 5dmk2's cant do, i would try and take and show a shot on very low light conditions following a fast moving subject.

That is what this baby can do and what it was designed for!

edit: also the pic above is poorly framed IMO. a better composition would be to include the sky more as the sky looks like an interesting one.

Guys, all he's saying is that his 400D blows the 5D Mark III out of the water. How can you be so slow?

In a related note, I wonder what substance he's on at the time of that posting. I wanna try it too.

You mean, like this? (These were posted elsewhere but as they will serve to reply to the above, have placed here as well).

The 5D Mk.III's AF in action on small FAST, erratic subjects, pretty high ISOs as well.

I had two Canon 600ex-rt. One was set to slave and the other master.

Thanks both, actually these weren't shot with a macro lens but with a 500mm.

Edit: thanks as well John, your reply came in just after I posted this so had to edit to add my thanks.

guys, I hate to be negative, but can we not reply with all the images in the reply unless it's necessary? Some people are viewing these images on other devices like a cell phone and to inline images just for a comment like "wow, nice!" is pretty much worthless.

My first impression was some shot with her head cut off… that was the only thing distracting me from otherwise a well composed shot
