Speaking of auto focus, I was messing around with the 50mm 1.8 today which is known for its slow and inaccurate AF and it was nailing it!! I was getting action shots of my dog catching a frisbee without even trying!!

I've had mine for 2 days. First thoughts are; high ISO on still lifes look great, real world not quite as good, AF the 61 point and selection option are great however the outer set is not cross type points and function very poorly in low light on low contrast subjects, if you move one row in those points nail focus quickly in low light, metering seems much better, auto WB is still pretty poor.

I'm bumbed that Lightroom 4 does not support the MK 3 and even with the DNG conversion you are left with limited editing.

Although I like the dual card slots I don't like the new grip (much thicker)
That's all I have so far.

What sorts of "limited editing"?
You have full editing with LR with the DNG converter. I DNG convert on import in LR, so it is absolutely no difference, I just have to do it manually outside of LR first.

check out that pic from the 5d3. the 5d3 looks sharper, but maybe thats due to DOF issues? or i wonder if it was SOOC jpg... hmmm...

looks promising hopefully they will be more comparison such as this cause I think a lot of many would want to know is the 5d3 sharper then 5d2, 5d3 high ISO IQ is definitely better then the 5d2 its the low ISO I'm interested now...

So whats the best way of processing images so far? I did a few in ACR6.7RC, but it's just not as nice as LR4 :(

looking through this thread I really can't see a discernible difference between the 5dmark 2 and the mark 3 image quality even at higher iso's, all the other features are great as you would expect but it's not enough for me to upgrade what is a magnificent camera.

At such high ISO, the noise looks grain-like and is very usable

Coming from a T2i here so its learning curve for me, button placement and such. On the T2i there was an ISO button that when pressed quickly called up the menu on-screen to change ISO levels. I noted there is an ISO button on the Mark III in the same spot, but it doesnt take me to anything. So the only way Ive found to switch ISO is to go through the Quick Menu. Can someone explain to me if there is a designated button somewhere and I'm missing it, OR is it possible to assign the MF-B (multi-fuction button?) to take me to the ISO page immediately?

On another note - still playing with it, but I can't figure out how to set it to take RAW + Jpeg. I can toggle between the JPEG file size options, and the RAW options are above it, but I don't know how to move up to it, since both the joystick and the wheel seem fixed on moving horizontally only on that page. Sorry if these sound like ridiculously easy questions, I just thought Id try here before hunting in the manual :P

the big jump from the old Rebel menu system to the Pro menu's.

For the iso, I went in and assigned the SET button on the job wheel to allow me to re-assign the iso on the fly when taking photo's. So I can press the set and then turn the top scroll wheel to re-assign the iso. So I have full control in manual of the shutter, aperture, and iso. This is a big improvement for me over the 50D that I had.

Out of curiosity, how do you find the learning curve going from your T2i?? The layout of all the controls is totally different with this camera. There is quite a bit to get use to, but I feel like they have put more thought into it. I have my weekend cut out for me to go though the manual to figure out how to get the most out of my new AF.
