Your probably right and it was pointed out earlier by moda that the cameras processing power wouldn't handle the function.

I understand what you mean. I guess I'll know in a couple of days when mine comes in. Here in Taiwan it's a general opinion among photographers that 5Dc pictures are "more beautiful". A famous Taiwanese photographer (Kevin Wang) hired my daughters for a couple of shoots, and I was really surprised that he was using a 5Dc, although he is clearly quite well off...

The 5dc with a prime stuck on it and used in AV mode, is a phenomenal piece of kit.

Do you need the manual? I loved the simplicity of the 5Dc, and when I got the 5d2 I just went through the menus and turned off everything I could find and did all my processing on the computer (I only shoot Raw, 99% in Aperture Priority). Worked great for me. MA and stuff like that I figured out for myself because I found the manual infuriating. is this a camera where you actually need to read how to do stuff? Does the manual still seem like it was written by aliens using a dictionary?

I NEVER read manuals and my 5Diii is out of it's plastic and I'll be reading it this week... If you don't want to play with the AF much, it's pretty straight forward. They've moved the CFs to be part of the menu more than in the past even. But yeah, I'm trying to get some of the AF tricks down and I've found I need the crack the manual to learn exactly what they want me to do...

as for the buffer, with my Sandisk 45mb/s "extreme pro" 8gb card, it's 14 shots before it slows. With my CF, 60mb/s "extreme" 16gb card it's 18 shots before it slows. Both in RAW. I did not test it with JPEGs again, but I had last night and it never ran out shooting 50 something shots. For me thats more than I'd ever use so I just stopped.

That's the same card I got. I don't know why it gets so far. You have more than one card? I only have the CF, I have a SDHC Extreme HD coming.

I have an SD card in there as well but I have it set for only overflow.
The ISO will have a lot to do with how many images can be done in a burst.
