I love the grid too! It really helps with handheld shots and quicker comp on tripod.

Well here in Copenhagen, Denmark there are some long lists. At one of the biggest retailers I am # 140 on the waiting list and I pre-ordered the same day 5D3 was announced so I can only imagine how many is on the wating list now. But the good thing is that in their first shipment they got 70 cameras so hopefully the next shipment will include mine. With this kind of numbers in a small country like Denmark I can only imagine how many is waiting in bigger countries.

Darn Tommy.. Didn't even order mine until two weeks ago. Well, it will be n my hands eventually :)

I took out the SD card and just used my Lexar Pro 400X 8GB card and was only able to get 16 frames on all of 3 tries. For kicks I went to large jpg and I stopped at 74 photos...

So I guess that 16 is good enough for me, that's almost three full seconds at 6 fps. 90% of what I do is landscape anyway.

Also I used just a 8GB Class 10 PNY SD card and could only get 10 RAW photos taken before the buffer was full, and it took a while to clear...

Well, I'd stick with CF for RAW burst. My plan is to use CF for RAW and video and SD (class 10) for Jpegs.

I find it a big improvement on the 5dii of course others may have a different opinion

I do. You actually see what you're shooting. Also the grid works out very well for composition.

I rented one for the weekend. The viewfinder is MUCH better than the 5DII's. 100% coverage now, so what you see is what you shoot.

Thanks. I'm surprised it's that much better! Coming from an XT->50D->5DII I was pretty happy with the Mark II's viewfinder.

I gotta say, I absolutely love this camera compared to my 7D. Though bokeh is a term which generally use when describing a lens, I honestly feel it looks so much better on the 5DIII. Seems to be a bit more vivid and more of a creamier (if that is even a word) look to it.

I agree 1000% with others on this thread. Pics seem to have more contrast, saturation, etc compared to my 7D. And as far as ISO, OMG, I get better shots at 25600 than I got with my 7D at 800-1600 ISO!

Still have to get use to the camera, but here are a couple of Jpg's from yesterday using my 70-200 2.8 IS II

I thought it was going to be a PITA to zoom 100% to look at a picture on the LCD, but a few mins working with it and I’m fine with the wheel instead of the button.

Can anyone comment on the file size of fine/large (top quality) JPEGs and the RAW file sizes?

Raws are 25-36MB, about 25-30MB when DNG format. About 10-15MB when Lossy DNG (which shows no loss in quality, even at 1:1).
