I have been reading a number of posts and trying to avoid repeating questions already posted. Please bear with me. I appears that a website capable of resale is a prerequisite for paying photography, even business cards. So of the three Smugmug, ZenFolio or WordPress (professional) hosted, is there a strong bias or preference?

I don't expect to spend a great deal of time initially managing the website. It's a second job for a while.

I have an active Wordpress blog and a website with Go-Daddy, that I plan to let expire.

Advice would be appreciated.

I like zenfolio. It was easy to set the site up and is easy to maintain. Customer support was very responsive the one time I needed them. I have not used the other two so I can't comment on those.

I have had a Zen site since August and so far have had no complaints. It has served the purpose I wanted perfectly.

in my opinion the best combo you can have is a WordPress base website and then link the galleries to your smugmug account. the options that you can have with WordPress are endless and the service of smugmug are the best

SmugMug pro account (for customization) for your gallery, and wordpress to blog about stuff and "personalize" it all.

I took out trial sites with both Smugmug and Zenfolio. In both cases, customer service was quick and very helpful. In the end I chose Zenfolio because I found it easier to customize my site (add custom pages, change the home page layout, etc.). The Zenfolio user interface was more intuitive and didn't require the use of code. It took me less than an hour to get pretty much what I wanted, whereas after an hour on Smugmug I hadn't got behond the basic template.

I've been very happy with Zenfolio and intend to stay with them.
