its been a while since i shot outside with constantly changing light because of the clouds but i think i did a fairly good job for my first time. i shoot track again next weekend and plan to have a lot more shot variety as it seemed like all my shots were vertical and very tight on the athletes, which is what my school wants but i think i shoot a little too tight sometimes. all shot with a 70-200 mkII and some with a 1.4X extender. i think i should have stopped down a little as the shots with the extender seem soft which i think might be normal, but i think i should stop down some anyway to get a little sharper because i wouldnt lose anything going from 2.8 to 4 or f4 to 5.6(with extender)

almost all except the javelin shot where from a kneeling position and i plan to experiment with trying to get even lower by laying on the ground or sitting really low to try and get more dynamic shots. unfortunately my school didnt compete in many field events but i might take some field shots for fun next go around just for the experience

Hi Brian. Some nice action there. Like the guy in the sand, would be good if you had a few frames prior to that moment. The running girl, watch for the amputated leg syndrome, and the jav shot would have work better in landscape, seeing a bit more of the jav.

Hi Brian_R

The only one that looks softish is No1 the rest a sharp , what shots did you shoot with the converter.

I have this combo and shot for the first time with it this weekend , apart from fine tuning the micro focus I found the 1.4x mk3 excellent , speed of focus etc .

By the way for the first time out I shot @ F5.6 , but static shot tests before the event prooved very sharp @ F4
