Great series Harvey ,I have heard that the MKlll's are quite superior over the previous models your results sure show this .

Well Harvey there is no softness in that combo! What a nice series and I love those Long Tails! :)

That is a great combo Harv. Exceptionally sharp images with exposure to boot. Well done.

I was hesitant to get the x2 III but once I did I was happy with the results in the right circumstance. It makes a nice combo and very versatile with the 1.4 especially with the 300mm. Great shooting Harv and these turned out great.

I don't know anyone who wouldn't be happy w/results and images like that Harv.
They are all very crisp and sharp. I do love the Long-tails too, they are sweet.
Between you and Levina y`all are going to make me get a 2x aren't you - :)

Go for it, Steve. Life is short. :D

Great set Harvey! Looks like the III works great. I had one too, worked nice on my Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS but at the same time I also had a Sigma 2x TC which is also sharp. The Canon was a little bit better in the corners and handled fringing and CA much better. But eventually I ended up selling it, I couldn't justify twice the price compared to the Sigma. I can correct most of the color issues in ACR anyway (just a little more work).

Thanks a lot, Gabe. I'm pleased with the results from it for sure.

I know very little about 2x TC, but I do know about great shots... and I think these fill the bill :) I mentioned to you back in an old post, that the Long-tailed Ducks are a species I see on Lake Superior... but can't get close to them, so I envy and am impressed with these beautiful images.

Dave

Thanks a lot, Dave. The Long-tailed ducks winter over in our harbour so are a little easier to get to. After a while, they become much less spooky.

Super shooting, Harvey; Artie Morris would be proud of you.
Al

Thanks a lot, Al. I doubt Artie would be proud... I'm not a member of his forum.

Thanks a lot, Andrew. Not so much the 1.4, but certainly the 2x is.

I'm ignorant about converters as well, but do certainly appreciate the heck out of your photographs.

Looks like it performed flawlessly. I especially like the long-tailed ducks.
