Forum split... Transportation/Cars

I have an idea, just speaking my mind... I wonder if there would be any way to create an Automotive section and branch it off the Transportation section.

I really enjoy the trains and planes and boats, but I am really not that into cars. The problem is the car threads overwhelm the group. On page 1 right now there are a total of 30 post in the last 15 hours.... 20 of them are cars. I'm not complaining about the cars. However a split would give both types of photos more equal viewing opportunities. I would keep a non-car post from being pushed back down the pages as fast, and I doubt it would change the viewing opportunities for the cars either.

I see it as similar to the Wildlife / Birds sections. Clearly no one would dispute that birds are wildlife, yet they have their own area.

Just my $0.03 (inflation)

Edit... and if it is a matter of contributing, I would volunteer to MOD the non-car group, if it would help.

you have a big +1 from me, im more of a viewer than i am a writer but the non-car stuff that interupts my .. car-thread-viewing is annoying, there are many times more car threads than there are other stuff so to split it up would be ideal, that also allows much more room for people who are not interrested in cars i like the idea

This has been suggested before, & might be implemented in the upcoming forum software upgrade. But I'm making no promises.

Good to hear... In researching past threads on similar subjects, it is nice to see how so many ideas eventually become reality. Of course, I only see if from one angle, so I realize that it might not be do-able, or there may be reasons not to do it. But thanks for listening either way.

i agree but only because we are opposites and i am not really that into planes and trains. i do like checking them out every once in a while, but automotive is where its at for me.
