J for Joshua ;) I know females get more views...sorry for the deception. Now that you are here, why not take a quick look and feel free to drop me a line. Help me get better.

For number 1 he wanted to look like a 'villain'.

I dig the image composition and the editing alot! I just don't like the dudes look. His hairstyle and facial hair make him look like a tool. just my .02 :)

I would really like 3 and 4 without the gloves. I think youve got great light and nice compositions though, so not knocking the photography.

Thanks - he insisted on the gloves. He's got good facial features for a shoot so I'll be shooting him again with no facial hair and restyled hair.

Nice photos, I kind of agree with the guy above though on the model. He really doesn't pull off the tough guy look.

I really like the left image on #2 and both on #3. Next time, after you get the shots with the gloves on, ask if you can get some with the gloves off. That way, he has what he wants and you have what you want!

Great idea. I definitely need to be more conscious about things like this during photo shoots (removing something or adding something).

I'm just not understanding the photos. You have a relatively well dressed guy who seems to be playing a part that I don't understand. I'm not sure what the gloves are for or how they relate to the subject but they're obviously quite important considering their prominence in the photos. I'm not sure why it looks like he's going for a jog in number 4 while wearing completely in-appropriate clothing. I'm not exactly sure what he's doing in the second photo but I'm guessing he's throwing a punch for some unknown reason? (which leads me to believe that the gloves are some type of boxing/fighting gloves?....which even makes the following pics make less sense). I'm obviously completely missing the boat on this one ;)

The gloves were not my idea. During the planning process, he wanted to pose using fighting stances (Bruce Lee and other Kung Fu masters). Do a lot of editorial shoots make sense to you? It doesn't have to make sense. When does fashion ever make sense?

I really like the shots. The editing and composition are both very nice. However, the gloves kill it. They have nothing to do with fashion, and don't fit in these photos. I don't blame you at all as you already said the model insisted on them. Just let him know that his idea was not so bright haha.

IMO, a photo should contain elements that "pull it together" and build upon one another.....I just didn't get that from these photos. That may simply be caused by my own ignorance if I'm not the intended audience. I'm sure there are plenty of people who understand the gloves, dress, poses and what they signify....unfortunately, I'm not one of them.

It's all good :) photos do not have to make sense to everyone.
