This is Ultimate Tazer Ball a new sport I photographed while I was in Bangkok covering a paintball event. Not sure if it is viable but it was sure fun and interesting to watch. It was like a combination of rugby and soccer but with tazers.

The event took place indoors in some really poor light and flash photography was not permitted.
I resorted to high iso fast shutter speed and small apertures to get a decent depth of field and freeze the action. I usually shoot events in bright sunlight so am open to any helpful suggestions here :D

Manual, wide open, and shutter speed to 500/640/800 depending on how fast the sport is, usually 500/640 would be sufficient to freeze action. Then ISO from there.

It just seems like a lot of extra work in post since you'd have to deal with noise reduction at different levels depending on the image.

Personally I like your set, just throwing ideas out to make your workflow easier.

A little OT: Are you shooting PSP still after the Lane Wright debacle?

If I remember correctly Gary has been buys with other thing and has been sending other photogs in his place. For example in Tx he sent Jani, but I'm sure Gary is always welcome.

Thanks for the tips ajaffe, I usually work in bright sun light and I do not have much experience with dark indoor events.

Since I have been working for the PSP for so long and I supply them with images for their web site and e-mail blasts I am pretty immune to this sort of stuff. Many people tried to draw me in to the "debacle" but I choose to remain silent and just let it blow over.

I had the option of going to Bangkok or Galveston so I of course I chose the PALS event in sunny Bangkok and sent our European Rep to the hurricane and mud morass in Texas

I will be at the remainder of the PSP events and most of the NPPL events plus the big game in Moscow and D-Day Oklahoma
