This is called the tow path.
It took quite a scouring when Irene raised the Raritan to epic flood level.

Your foreground is out of focus, what aperture did you shoot this at. Personally I would of gone maybe f11 or f16 and focused on the first root in the middle and that should of stayed sharp through the image then.

I do also like it but was just giving you some constructive criticism. Yes running or cycling along that path would be painful.

I agree Richard, a shot f11 or 16 should have been an automatic harvest for me.
The blurry foreground is a little frustrating to the eye as I look for detail.
I like how wild and a little creepy the trail looks as you look up to and past the hiker.
