Your ideal lense

In a sentence describe your ideal lens, only a couple guide lines.

My favourite is my 50L.

1) f/1.2, very shallow DOF.
2) Solid excellent build quality.
3) Love the focal length on my 5D MK II.

Canon 50 f1.8.
Cheap, light, love the color, bokeh of the pictures and works perfectly on my 30d

Rokinon 8mm rectangular fisheye.

Beside being cheap and well made, you get to just point and shoot. Everything is included in field.

No focusing needed, just keep it at infinity and from 3feet to infinity all are in focus.

It could have a better anti glare coating though but I guess all fisheyes are prone to show a flow there.

17L TS-E

I love the fact that not a whole ton of other people have it. It takes some awesome architecture shots and the tilt/shift functions on it provide it so much more utility than say, over the 17-40L in my opinion. it's a lens you truly can't appreciate unless you have it, and most people done want to plunk down $2,500 for it

I like the 70-200 2.8, great lens, very versatile.

The new Canon 600 F4L IS II.

Only thing I don't love is the price tag, and the fact that Canon is dragging their feet so long in bringing it out. But it will be the perfect birding and wildlife lens IMO. Same wieght as the current generation 500mm, with the extra reach, and all the best and latest electronics. If it eventually comes out of the stratosphere in pricing, like below $10,000 even, and lives up to what it should, it will definitely be a winner.

I'm going with the 50mm 1.8 from the lenses that I currently have. Love the pictures/bokeh. Would love to have the 1.4 or 1.2.

45mm TSE I love the 50ish mm focal length, I love that it has movements, and is under $1500 I would just love it if they released a MKII with L features

EF x L

depends at the job

The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS wins for me, because:
1. Relatively small and light.
2. Superb image quality.
3. Versatile focal length range with IS to make up for f/4 maximum aperture.

The 70-200 2.8 IS II

1. It always surprises me with its sharpness.
2. The IS is amazing.
3. I love its bokeh.

I never thought I'd own this lens...nor did I think it could be as good as it actually is. I love it!

Walk around/general/sports/​portraits, 70-200mm f/2.8L IS mk2
