I don't have much experience photographing birds, but I decided to sit along the edge of the woods outside the apartment today and see what I could get with my 70-300. There was a vine hanging down off the side of an old bridge, which created a stark contrast between the bird in the sunlight and the shadow of the bridge in the background.
Is this an Eastern Phoebe? I dusted off the old birding books and this was my best guess given its appearance and context. C&C always welcome. Thanks for looking!
