Some might say yes, some might say no, I'd say it's a good deal for somebody who has wanted to buy a Demi but can't afford it at regular price.

I bought a Demi recently and this thing is built like a tank. Good deal and I would be all over it if I did not have one already.

And yes, it's more than twice as good as AB dishes if you know what you're looking for in lighting ;) I know as I have 2 AB dishes, one original white and one silver HO. To me it's better than both of them combined. Not sure if it's about four times better at the price I paid :P

Have you ever done comparisons between the 3? or the Demi and the original? that's one of the things missing, good solid comparisons between them :(

Didn't have chance to do a subjective test as it'll require a model to patiently sit through the tedious test. I don't generally use the silver one in a studio setup as it tend to be harsh with many hot spots. Mola came with PAD (Perforated Aluminum Disk) which adds a bit of punch to the subjects and that seems to work for me.

One advantge the original AB has is I have a grid for the dish and can control the spil with that combo. Even though both AB and Mola are marked as 22", the Mola has substantially larger diameter hence I cannot use the existing grid with the Mola.

Yes, I have the original AB, a Setti, and soon an Euro but I'm always curious to see how the other 22" perform side by side. Good to know about the grid, my next purchase will be the Demi and I was wondering about that.

I have a Euro too. One gripe I have with Mola dishes is the paint doesn't seem to be pure white. Demi is newer and whiter, but Euro was an old stock I picked up locally and it's noticeably yellower. Looks the Demi listed and sold by Adoram on eBay seem to have quite a yellow tint too. How old is your Setti and do you notice any yellowing of the paint?

As far as I know they are not white, they are "off white" and done so on purpose, mine is like 3 years old and has almost the same color as the original AB.
Have you noticed any differences in color cast? what I notice is the obvious, warmer but I like that and if anything is easily corrected.
I can tell you more once I get the Euro, which is only a year old or so.

Both Molas are yellower than my original AB dish and the Euro is more so. I don't mind the slight warming, but somehow I feel I'm getting a bit of green cast and while it's eaily correctable, it still is a nuisance especially in a mixed lighting setup.
