Thanks - we've been getting a lot of red sky sunsets lately, with the clouds acting as light diffusers. Makes for some interesting contrast lighting.

Ahh gotcha. Have you shot the 100-400? If so how do you like it compared to the 300? I'm looking for a lens to use for airshows and plane spotting

Go with the 100-400 - greater versatility and an all around better lens when it comes to airshows and plane spotting. For any air show and ex, it's my go to lens.

For what it's worth, I enjoy the 300mm as it kind of forces me to think outside the box when I take photos and thinking about what kind of details I'd like to catch.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Now I've just got to save up the money for it :confused:
