I recently upgraded to a 50D from an XSi. I had previously purchased a Phottix Cleon II shutter release for the XSi, which had a miniphone shutter release port (C6). This obviously won't work with the 50D.

The Canon documentation lists the port for the 50D as being an N3-type. I visited the Phottix website, and they don't have any listings with an N3-type connector. They do have products that list the 50D, but they are listed as having a C8 connector. Is there a difference, or are they the same type connector?

Thanks. I figured so, but wanted confirmation :) It would be so much easier if they used the same nomenclature... (sigh)
