I've used Blurb for my last 9 wedding albums, and both myself and my clients have been really pleased.

I know several of you think companies like Blurb are for amateurs, and pros should be using something more like Asuka or Queensbury. I get that, but Blurb is pretty nice for the price, it keeps my costs where I need them and I like the design software.

So I have two current clients that want, and are willing to pay extra for flush mount 'hard paged' albums. I've read through some threads and done some googleing and I'm still a little lost.

I understand why premium companies work the way they do - going out of their way to keep pricing private and deal only with pros. But it's such a to do to submit my info and get to a point where I can see samples and find out pricing. I'd just like some basic info so I know who to go through all that with.

I'd really just like a ballpark figure. Is my cost a few hundred or closer to 1k? Also, I really prefer large, landscape oriented books, which is what I do with Blurb (external link), but most of the flush mount books I see are either square or portrait.

I really wish there was a slightly higher end version of Blurb out there, or that Blurb would offer a flush mount version. My client base isn't willing to pay 1k or more for their album, but I would like to meet these two clients half way. Any ideas?

Because this is a public forum and the pricing is supposed to be confidential, we're really not allowed to post price. And there's no single answer to your question anyway. I'm Zookbinders and they offer a few different album lines. Even the one with rigid pages comes in a variety of sizes. By the time you deal with that, page count, cover options, leather choices, etc. . . . well, you get the idea.

I havent actually had one printed yet, but..White House Custom Color has their album prices on their site www.whcc.com (external link) ...they are a pretty well known printer for photographers and that's who I do my normal printing through and they are great. Their albums are probably in the price range you are looking and they do flush mount/lay flat.

I use Adorama for my low end albums and they are very nice. Adorama also offers a leather cover over the cheaper picture cover. High end I use Graphi Studio.

I love Leather Craftsman- fantastic product at what I think is a really good price. I wouldnt even look at Queensbury right now, they are very nice but very expensive. I like my Leather Craftsman albums more than my Millers albums, and Leather Craftsman is at a better price.

Notice, Leather Craftsman takes about a month for you to get your album - its a long turn around time.

Edit: I noticed I called Leather Craftsman "Zenfolio" before I edited it. Fixed it now.

I started out with Blurb and now use Adorama and been very happy with their books. I prefer the stiffer page that the photopaper has in Adorama books vs the press printed paper. They now offer the leather upgrade which I am trying as a sample album to upscale my offering.

Try www.RenaissanceAlbums.com (external link) - a little on the higher end but they're pricing is on par with most other companies. Great customer service too.

I use PictoBooks (external link), mostly their Bijou album series (available in leather and faux-leather covers). The price is reasonable and the quality is outstanding. I also like that they offer 50% for 'Studio Samples' so I can leave sample albums at a lot of my favorite venues.
