What are you using to edit the photos? (do I remember picasa?)

In picasa there is a "rotate" or something tool where you can re-align the picture. The tool is separate from the crop tool. When you enter the tool, picasa will overlay a grid so you can align.

I am 98% positive that there is also a tool in DPP as well, I just can't remember where it is off the top of my head (at work). I think it is also separate from the crop tool. When you are fixing rotation, DPP should also throw up a grid for alignment purposes.

In Lightroom, just enter the crop tool. Here, LR will overlay 2 vertical and 2 horizontal lines through the cropped to show "rule of thirds" and you can also check alignment. To fix alignment, you just put your mouse outside the cropped area and click/drag. Once the picture starts to rotate, LR will double the number of overlaid grids for alignment purposes.

Be aware that when fixing alignment, an un-cropped photo will crop in some due to the rotation.

Hope that helps.

Also, I agree, this place is great for help.

Fuzzy after applying the rotation and getting out of the rotation tool?

If before, could be the software rendering fewer pixels for speed purposes.

If after... strange, not sure I have noticed that, though I certainly could have overlooked it.

If I manage to remember when I get caught up on all the other stuff I am doing at home, I will have to goof around with this.

What software and version are you using to get fuzzy pictures when straightening them up. I would like to see if I can repeat your findings.

I have used several different versions of Photoshop Elements , Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom up through version 3 and have not been able to see any degradation of the picture when straightening. It may be there but not to my eye.

Couple of things...

1) Straighten them out. If they look horrible cropped then leave them out.
2) You need to pick photos out better. Out of the first 7 photos, 6 are a sequence of one family. You only need one shot of the family grouped together.
3) You have 255 images posted. That's too many in my opinion. Pick the good ones out (key moments and in focus) and post-process them and post those.
4) Get down lower (knees/butt to the ground) when you shoot. The lower perspective results in better images. Especially when they are close to you and you are shooting with a 70-200 @ 70.
5) Faces and balls (get both in the picture) and don't think dirty on that comment. :)
6) See if there's any way to get rid of the initial splash screen. It seems to only show up the very first time you access the page, but I almost thought the link was broken.

In generally they look pretty good. Need to work on post-processing (straightening, exposure, etc.)
